Mortal Kombat Short Film Update

Turns out that 8 minute Mortal Kombat short film was just an over the top movie pitch. Jeri Ryan (Sonya Blade) Tweet'd that the video, titled MK: Rebirth, was a proof-of-concept pitch for a new Mortal Kombat movie.

The short film was directed  by Kevin Tancharoen and was written by friend Oren Uziel. Tancharoen shot the short film over two days in April and bankrolled the whole project budget of $7,500 himself.

There is still no word from Warner Bros regarding the short film.
