Street Fighter Club 10/24/08

V.G.A has been very busy these past few weeks now that our tournament season has started and we thought it would be a good idea to relax this weekend and check out Capcom’s Street Fighter Club this past Friday. 250 plus gamers were on hand for this exclusive Brooklyn NY event from all over New York City including members of V.G.A (Chaos10851, 3rd Strike, Romantic, Ace, Oof, Jav1ts) and Empire Arcadia (Tri-Force aka Mr. Power Glove himself, Justin Wong, Sanford Kelly, Andre). Some Highlights from the event were Empire Arcadia's Justin Wong getting a 51 win streak using Sakura for his first time, V.G.A’s Ace getting a 38 win streak and Empire Arcadia’s Andre sharing a game with V.G.A’s Jav1ts to get a 41 win streak simultaneously across 3 different Street Fighter IV set ups.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Street Fighter IV were on hand at the event and we must say there is no difference between the two. Both run great on there system and are arcade perfect from what we saw. From the looks of the character select screen 6 characters are missing, we know that Dan, Gouken, Cammy, and Fei Long have been confirmed leaving only 2 or more characters left (T. Hawk, Dee Jay!!). Over all the game is great and we cant wait to get our hands on the home version again.

Super Street Fighter II HD Remix was also on hand running on the Xbox 360, all characters and stages were available. We played a few games and got a good look at every character in action. The game looks fantastic and playing Super Turbo for as long as we have we felt the changes that were made to HD Remix right away. The game is a lot easier to get into all old motions for characters like Zangief, T.Hawk and Fei long are way easier to do making them more accessible to players that might not have picked them in the past do to the difficulty of executing there moves.

We were glad to be there and hope to see some of those fighters at our upcoming tournaments.
