Soul Calibur IV Algol

Algol has finally been revealed as the boss of Soul Calibur IV, Most of you probably already knew this after seeing the UbiDays 2008 Transcendence trailer but for those of you that haven’t its posted below with some new screen shots. Along with Algol’s official debut into the Soul Calibur series comes some new information on the character.


Algol's armor is of a bird motif and originated in an ancient kingdom lost to the sands of time. He has the ability to fly in mid air and has these blades that come out of his body. Character designer Hideo Yoshie stated that Algol is the "strongest character ever in SC series" and yes Algol is a playable character.


Earlier information stated that he might be the first to have possessed the Soul Edge but from these images it seems that there’s more to it. His right arm glows red signifying the power of Soul Edge, but his left arm glows blue meaning that he also possesses some of Soul Calibur’s power. Could this mean that Algol once held both swords……. At the same time? We’ll just have to wait for the full story once its available, but overall Algol seems to be one of the best boss character’s we’ve seen in along time.
